Kind of Linguistics : Pragmatic

Language is the main indicator of communication. It can be said, language is a connecting bridge between one person and another. In linguistics, language is considered as an arbitrary sound symbol system used by a group of community members to interact and identify themselves (Abdul Chaer, 1994).

On the other hand, each system and language symbol implies that each language symbol, both words, phrases, clauses, sentences, and discourse always has a certain meaning, which may change at certain times and situations. Or even it hasn't changed at all. Usually, there aren't many people who are concerned about how language can be used as an effective communication medium, so as a result speakers of a language often experience misunderstandings in the atmosphere and context of the speech. One way to find that out is through a pragmatic.
Defenition :
Pragmatic is an external study between language and context that underlies the explanation of language understanding. Here, understanding 'understanding of language refers to the fact that to understand something the expression/utterance of language also requires knowledge outside the meaning of words and their relationship to the context of their use. Levinson (19983: 9)
Based on the pragmatic understanding of the expert, the writer concludes that in communicating, a speaker is required to master cross-cultural studies, this is done in order to establish the principles of cooperation and courtesy in the communication process so that communication goals can be achieved effectively and avoid misunderstandings between speakers and listeners
